Update: TriCare West has implemented changes to correct the invalid claim rejections.
Original Notice Sent on April 10, 2012:
If a TriCare claim is received with invalid secondary Coordination of Benefits (COB) information, the claim in error may cause erroneous claim rejections on other non-related COB claims that may or may not contain COB information.
This issue has been occurring at TriCare West since approximately on 03/20/2012. TriCare West is working to resolve this issue and they are targeting a fix by the end of April 30, 2012. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available from TriCare West.
If you choose to continue sending COB claims electronically to TriCare West prior to their resolution of this issue, please ensure that all claims containing COB information are accurately reported.
Please be aware of invalid COB claim rejections from Tricare West. Providers should verify any secondary COB information before sending claims.
